 Pier 39 & Alcatraz PIER 39 is a festival marketplace with over 100 unique shops, 10 restaurants offering breathtaking bay views along with great food and a family of attractions. Fabulous views of such landmarks as Coit Tower, the Skyline, Alcatraz and the Golden Gate and Bay bridge. Pier 39 is home to the Blue & Gold Fleet, “San Francisco-The Movie” at the Citibank Cinemax Theatre, Turbo Ride, Namco CyberStation and NamcoLand, the California Sea Lions, and America’s first “divers-eye view” UnderWater World, aquarium. Sea lions @ pier 39 ---- As you head out to the north end of PIER 39, you’ll hear the barking boisterous cacophony of frolicking sea lions long before you see these chubby brown cuties. These “wild” pinnipeds loll uon the marina docks, piling on top of each other and entertaining humans with their antics. Marine Mammal Center volunteers are on hand on weekends from 11am. to 5pm. to explain their willy ways.
