 San Francisco Zoo Lions and tigers...and not too long ago, a stray alligator pulled from San Francisco's Mountain Lake. The San Francisco Zoo manages to keep most age groups entertained with its selection of animals, and it delights younger folk with the Children's Zoo--a four-acre park of smaller animals that won't scare the kids. They can feed 'em and pet 'em, while you use up a roll of film. There's the Doelger Primate Discovery Center, a home to rare and endangered monkeys, Gorilla World, and the lion house (don't miss feeding time).
